We're having an online reading event where people can join from the comfort of their own home.

Theme: Characters Who Change

What makes a character unforgettable? Is it the adventures they go on or is it the person they become along the way?

Join Dragons that Read for a lively exploration of books featuring characters who grow, change, and discover something new about themselves. Inspired by beloved stories like Howl’s Moving Castle, we’ll look at characters who begin a story one way and emerge from their adventures with new perspective, some well earned wisdom, and never again the same.

Dyslexic Dragons that Read 1.1

Dyslexic Dragons That Read is an event created especially for dyslexic dragons and readers who may find traditional reading challenging. This event celebrates effort, creativity, and perseverance because every dragon reads in their own powerful way.

Magical Books 1.1

Join Dragons That Read for our Magical Books event at the Gift of Magic in Hengelo. It will be a whimsical reading event dedicated to stories that spark wonder and curiosity.  In keeping with every other DtR program there will be an emphasis on this being a shared experience that is supported by reading aloud as a large group and in smaller clusters.

Donderstenen Dragons that Read Event 1.1

Dragons That Read: Worlds Beyond the Page is a fantasy and science fiction–themed reading event at the Dondersteen in Hengelo for ages 9 and up. Participants gather to read a selected story excerpt aloud together, taking turns if they wish, in a relaxed and welcoming environment. The focus is on stories with rich world building and memorable characters, such as magical lands, futuristic worlds, and imaginative creatures.

Hengelo Library Cafe

Come join us for the Hengelo library cafe and discover the English and Dutch books of the month. Meet us in library or join us virtually as we discuss this months features and reminisce over our other favorite books and authors.  

During these events we will often get to enjoy meeting the author as they may join us either virtually or in person. There will be a short presentation with a reading form the book and sometime for questions.
